Huat La!

Today is a strange day...

Because it was a day with stories of crows attacking people, fireworks almost burning up someone's hair, and the grand prize of the toto draw.

It started when I reached office and began chomping on my apple... A told me there was muah chee than auntie bought for us. Could have guessed it, she usually buys stuff for us to eat when she has won some lottery money.

After a while, we learnt from auntie that just the other day when she was walking on the street, a crow zoomed down and started pecking her head, then hovered around her before she fled off quickly. Her friend told her she was very 'suay' to encounter this and she'd better not buy 4D, because she wouldn't win anything.

Nonetheless, she still went to buy her usual number... and she actually struck the first prize. Unfortunately, she had opted for the permutations of that number, so she only walked away with $600.

Just about an hour or so later, Y came into office and began telling us the story of again.... 4D.

She was in JB with J and after the fireworks were set off, they came raining down on the people below. As they tried to quickly avoid, the sparks fell onto J's head. Of course, they managed to 'extinguish' it... his hair didn't catch fire. But Y took the opportunity to ask for 4 numbers from J.

Not the most creative of numbers, he offered her with 5-5-6-6...

And she really did buy the number after she returned to sg. But maybe because a fire didn't actually go off on J's hair =P, that she missed by just a number (5-4-6-6).

Excited by the coincidence of stories about buying 4d (one winning and one not winning), plus an association with things falling on the head... we quickly told Y about auntie's story as well.

In came auntie after a while, and Y began to ask auntie for 7 numbers to buy toto for today's big draw.

We did buy those 7 numbers... and its shared out by 10 people, each paying 35cents.

The results are out by now, but we haven't compared them to our ticket yet. The ticket now lies in the most 'wang' area of our office... the 'cai wei'... aka our finance room haha.

Tomorrow.... we shall know.

I think we are mad... but it was fun whether or not we win anything =).
